Privacy Policy

What we collect, which cookies are set, who receives data, and how you control it.

Who is responsible

The controller for this website is Digital Vibes GmbH, Nidelbatstrasse 56, 8038 Zürich, Switzerland, represented by Fabian Freund. For any privacy question or request, write to team@dibe.agency.

We are based in Switzerland and follow the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, we follow it as well.

Files and text you put into the tools

Most tools run entirely in your browser. The file or text you provide is processed on your device and is not uploaded to us. The URL checkers are different: our server fetches the public URL you enter, analyses the response and returns the report. We do not store the report. The about page lists which tool works which way.

Server logs and hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). When your browser requests a page, Vercel processes your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request to deliver the site and keep it secure. We use the IP address briefly to rate-limit the URL checkers. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We show ads through Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA. Ads pay for the tools.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • Google and its partners may also use cookies, device identifiers, your IP address and similar data to measure ads, limit how often you see one, and detect fraud.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalised ads from other participating vendors at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu. How Google uses data from sites that use its services is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and the vendors Google may work with are listed at Google's ad technology providers.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message asks for your choice before personalised ads are shown. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without consent you see non-personalised or limited ads, which still use data that is strictly needed to deliver and measure them. Visitors from US states with privacy laws can opt out of the sale or sharing of their data for advertising through the same message.

Cookies and local storage

  • Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners, as described above. They are used for ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping and, with consent, personalisation.
  • Consent storage.Google's consent message stores your choice so it does not ask on every page.
  • Analytics cookies from DataFast: a visitor ID and a session ID, used to count visits and see which tools are used.
  • Local storage. If you rate a directory listing, your browser remembers the rating you gave so the page can show it again.

You can change or withdraw your advertising choice at any time here: . You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools keep working without them.

Analytics (DataFast)

We use DataFast (datafa.st) to measure traffic: pages viewed, referrer, country, device and browser type, and events such as "tool used". We do not send the files, text or URLs you process to analytics, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or your consent where the law requires it.

Directory submissions and ratings

When you submit a website to the directory we store the details you enter, including your contact email, to review the submission and reach you about it. When you rate a listing we store the rating together with a salted hash of your IP address so each visitor counts once. We never store the raw IP address. Listing data is kept in a Postgres database hosted through Vercel.

Who receives data

  • Vercel Inc., USA: hosting and database.
  • Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, USA: advertising, together with Google's ad partners.
  • DataFast: analytics.

Some of these providers process data in the United States and other countries outside Switzerland and the EEA. Transfers rely on the EU and Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and otherwise on standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep data

Submission details are kept while the listing exists or until you ask us to delete them. Rating hashes are kept while the listing exists. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form. Cookie lifetimes for advertising are set by Google and are listed in Google's cookie overview.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw a consent you gave. Write to team@dibe.agency. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU or UK the authority of the country you live in.

Children

The site is made for web developers, designers and marketers. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We update this policy when the site or the services it uses change. The date at the top shows the current version.
