How to use the Bold Text Generator

Instagram, LinkedIn and X have no bold button. This generator swaps each letter for a look-alike from the Unicode mathematical alphabets, which display as bold or italic in any app. Underline and strikethrough use combining marks instead. Letters A to Z and digits are converted; accented letters and punctuation stay as they are.

How can text be bold on LinkedIn without a bold button?

The letters are not formatted. They are different characters from Unicode that happen to look bold, so they keep their look wherever you paste them.

Is bold Unicode text bad for accessibility?

It can be. Screen readers may read each letter as a math symbol name or skip it. Use styled text for a word or a short heading, not whole paragraphs.

Why are some of my letters not bold?

Only A to Z and digits have styled versions in these Unicode alphabets. Accented letters such as é or ü and most punctuation stay in the normal font.

Will search find posts written in bold Unicode?

Usually not. Search on most platforms treats the styled letters as different characters, so a bold word may not match a search for the plain word. Keep key words plain.
