Why the line breaks disappear
Instagram treats a line that holds only spaces as empty and may remove it. A space at the end of a line can also cause the break after it to be lost.
Text copied from notes apps, documents or AI chat tools often carries those trailing spaces without you seeing them.
Fix the caption before you post
The fixer removes trailing spaces from every line and puts a Braille blank character (U+2800) on each empty line. Instagram sees a character there and keeps the line, but readers see nothing. If you prefer something visible, use the dot instead.
- Paste the caption into the line break fixer.
- Pick an invisible filler or a dot for the empty lines.
- Optionally collapse several blank lines into one.
- Copy the result and paste it into Instagram.
Clean the text first if it came from somewhere else
Captions drafted in ChatGPT or a document often contain asterisks, hidden characters and curly quotes. Clean those out first, then fix the line breaks. The cleaner removes the invisible blank the fixer adds, so the order matters.
Keep the important part above the fold
Instagram shows only about the first 125 characters before it cuts the caption with more. The invisible characters count toward the 2,200 character limit, so check the length before posting.
